Leonardo Erazo "El Tunel" Old Vines Cinsault

Leo organically farms old bush vines in the steep hillsides of the Itata Valley in volcanic and granite soils. Some of his vines are over 100 years old but sadly, he lost most of them in the horrific fires of 2023. He uses native yeasts, old neutral barrels and adds the minimum of sulfur at bottling.

El Tunel is from higher elevation vineyards of red granite and lots of quartz. Fermented in concrete. Lighter color; Smoky and spicy with wild strawberry on the nose plus some fine herbs. Precise and elegant.
