Domaines Ott "Romassan" Rosé
Mouvedre, Cinsault, Grenache.
Aromas of ripe citrus, wet stone and apricot lead into a palate of peaches, strawberry, and grapefruit. The long finish reveals hints of brioche, baking spice and cream. The Grande Dame of Bandol, at once light & lively with outstanding richness.
Cheese & charcuterie board, Catch of the Day
Chateau Romassan is one of three properties owned by Domaines Ott in the heart of Bandol, Provence.
The region is most famous for age worthy red wines of at least 50% Mouvedre, but roses count for 1/3 of the wine production in the region and are known for their ripe, spicy, and earthy character. The climate is hot and dry, moderated by the Mediterranean.
The grapes are subject to extremely selective sorting, delicate pressing, fermentation in temp. regulated vats, and aged in oak casks for 6-8 months. The Ott family has specialized in making serious & delicious rose for generations. There’s a reason it’s on every wine list in St. Tropez and every table in St. Barths!
