Like several grower-producers we admire, Benoit Déhu bottles beautifully expressive Champagne made 100% from Pinot Meunier.
Benoit owns a single vineyard of 1.7 hectares, "La Rue des Noyers," on the western edge of the Vallée de la Marne. His practices meticulous biodynamic farming as well as fermentation & aging in large barrels made from trees that grow next to his vineyards. A quarter of the property is plowed with a horse named Violette. The resulting wine is vibrant, complex, full-bodied and utterly delicious.
